a student charity run app where every kilometre a runner logs plants trees

It is a simple way for a student association to run a sponsored charity run, so I asked AI to build one where sponsors pledge kroner per kilometre and 50 kr plants one tree. The app has a leaderboard, faculty team pages, a weekly recap, printable QR bibs, and downloadable story cards for sponsors and milestones. It works as a demo with seeded data.
What made it work
- Described the idea and gave the AI screenshots of the design I wanted instead of describing it .Asked the AI to review the code, which found six bugs I fixed
- Put the organiser PIN check on the server, not just in the browser
- Kept the data model small: events, runners, runs, pledges

How it was madeThe prompt, what’s left to make it real.
What’s left to make it real
Needs a hosted database instead of SQLite, so everyone sees the same live totals. Needs real payments: a Vipps payment link per sponsor, plus a check that pledges are paid. Needs per-runner logins or signed bib links, because one shared organiser PIN is weak. Needs distances imported from Strava or a watch instead of typed in by hand. An event-wide pledge cap should apply to the whole event, not per runner.
- The prompt
- Build a student charity run app. Runners get a bib number and log kilometres, but only with an organiser PIN checked on the server. Sponsors pledge NOK per km (optional cap), and 50 kr raised = 1 tree. Show a leaderboard, faculty team pages with a rival gap, a weekly recap, printable bibs with QR codes that prefill the run form, a sponsor thank-you page, and downloadable 1080x1920 story cards for sponsors and for 10/25/50-tree milestones. Include seed demo data.

How would you stop people logging fake kilometres, without a sign-up ?
